Patience stressed me out so much but I was rooting for her all the way. She stressed me out a lot but I think if she were a real person, this would have been a defining moment for her. She was quite an unwise babe but she was very brave. Often questionable choices but brave. I would have given up and gone home
Moderate: Trafficking
Minor: Classism

Thoughts
I bought this book on a whim because of the title and cover. It turned out to party be about an uprising in 90s Nigeria, that I didn't know anything about, and finding your identity.
I thought it was a good book. My heart broke for Patience as she was doing everything she could to make it to America to find her mom.
When you get to the title part in the book it just really hits you in the heart.
I don't think it'll be for everyone because it's a bit of a slow burn but if those don't bother you then I would recommend this one.
