Fairly standard Baldacci fare: fast-paced, improbable, and fun.

Fun, page-turner, popcorn fiction thriller. I really liked the genre subversions and the pacing. The character work was better than average. The story was cool and interesting but a bit contrived, but I feel like that’s a part of this genre. Overall really enjoyed it and will read more of Baldacci’s stuff.

Small things like uneven dialogue, like really uneven. Some interactions really sold me on character with understated moments. Other times though, the dialogue felt really weird. This, along with the plot being contrived made it a 4 star instead of 5.

Extra points for not using sexist tropes for both men and women typical of the genre, being more politically aware than most, and not relying on sex to sell the story. Plenty of women written pretty well, I thought.

Loved it! Hope there are more with same characters!

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book and I was pleasantly surprised! David Baldacci brilliantly delivers on well-written spy thriller. There were a lot of twists and turns to this book and it kept me guessing until the very end. It’s definitely a series I plan on continuing to read.

Very good. A thrilling, page turner. Twists in the story, classic Baldacci. After reading a King and Maxwell novel, I realized I enjoy Will Robie much better. He's a stronger character. And assassin for the US, assigned targets to eliminate.
After not completing a certain mission, he finds himself on a bus. He intervenes when a young girl is almost killed. They leave the bus just before it explodes! Will and the girl, Julie team up to try and figure out what is happening.

Baldacci is one of my favorite authors.

The Innocent was a pretty decent read. It was a bit slow in the beginning, but it picked up and I found that at some points, I could not put it down and would read 2-3 chapters at a time. I also liked the fact that the author used shorter chapters. I felt that this prevented the book from dragging. Definitely had a good plot with some nice twists at the end. I am debating on checking out some of his other books.
