This is as cozy and wholesome as the first book - and I appreciated the nods to artefacts and people that show up as Viv builds her coffee shop in the first book.
There is a sub-plot with a necromancer and bag of bones, a person that wants to join Viv's mercenary troupe, a bookshop owner growing her business, and a budding romance. But more than anything, this story is an ode to reading and learning to love reading.
Also - this book reminds me that DnD stories can go literally anywhere, and that's it's always gonna be fun
