Stars: 2.5
I really didn't get into the character too much and I felt like things moved too fast.

I'm a huge fan of books with reunited lovers/love interests, especially when it's between two people who were a couple when they were younger. Time marches on, people grow, but somehow first loves stick with you. That was certainly the case for Briana and Colin in Make It Last.

It would have been easy for Briana to write Colin off entirely after the way he dumped her when he went off to college. I understand long distance relationships are difficult, but breaking up with someone you love just so you can be single when you go off to college never made much sense to me. At least give it a shot. If it doesn't work out, so be it. Neither Briana nor Colin sat around waiting for the other. They each went on with their lives and attempted to achieve their goals. Fate brought them back together after Colin was injured and his plans changed. Now they find themselves back in their hometown, together again. Colin knows he screwed up. Briana still has feelings for Colin, but she's not willing to forget how easy it was for him to leave her… or is she?

Sometimes I want nothing more than a completely predictable romance with a happily ever after. I know going into the book what's going to happen and I'm perfectly happy to sit back and enjoy the ride. This was one of those times. I liked the characters – not just Briana and Colin, but their whole group – and the situations and dialogue were realistic. Briana and Colin had chemistry and the romance was a bit steamy. Make It Last was a fun, sweet and sexy romp and a great start to a new contemporary romance trilogy. And at under 200 pages, it was a super quick read.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

The first sentence in this book will break your heart and the rest slowly puts you back together. I really liked this book and the narration was really good also. I will definitely be listening to the next.

I will post a review soon; once I am done with the other two books in this series... I will post them all at the same time.

Pretty nice read, but I don't approve of the mind-boggling quantity of alcohol the characters consume pretty often. That fact was one star minus, and the second star vanished because the events were a little bit rushed.

Colin breaks Briana's heart when he breaks up with her just before leaving for college. So when he comes back into town four years later, she's not too excited at the prospect of having to see him in their tiny town. But since time has passed, they've both become different people. Is it worth exploring if their love was true?

This was a very fast moving novella, that introduced a pretty large group of friends. Briana and Colin are both nice enough, but I found nothing particularly compelling about either of them.

I did feel that Briana was very quick to give Colin another chance. I know this was a novella but I would have liked to see a little more development in the relationship. The chemistry between Briana and Colin was very hot, however. The sex scenes were nicely written without being too explicit.

I did see a couple of things coming, but the end of the story was cute and made you want to root for these characters.

I started this book Friday Morning and finished it Friday night. Very quick read !! I'm enjoying getting to know the character and the sub characters. I'm reading all three this week.

Rather than talk about each novella in the trilogy, I’m going to do the whole shebang at once.

The first novella was probably my least favorite. It lacked any conflict at all. The couple broke up in the very beginning, there was some heartache, fast forward a few years, a few awkward scenes, then bam, they’re back together. That all happened in probably the first third of the story, the rest of it was spent following them around as they flirted, talked and made out. That was it. That made for a bit of a boring story, with no action, tension or excitement. The rest of the novellas, though, had more content to keep me interested.

I liked the variety of characters. There were rich kids and poor kids, abused kids and privileged kids, nice kids and asshats. You knew from the beginning of each story how it would all end for everyone, no real surprises there. Some of the situations they found themselves in, however, were unbelievable: Briana forgave Colin awfully fast; for someone so virginal, Nicole got naughty pretty quickly; Rich’s Rec Center was just too perfect a solution…

There were some deep situations the characters got into that were handled nicely, although they were resolved a little too quickly and cleanly, in my opinion. All of the novellas were zippy and moved along at a fast pace. And I liked the 3 brief bonus chapters at the end of the trilogy that acted as epilogues for each novella. I enjoyed seeing the couples a bit later in their lives.

Overall, the trilogy was entertaining and fun, with a touch of substance. A perfect choice for a beachy summer day.

The sum up: Quick, flirty and fun.

This was cute but there wasn't a lot too it.

and Brianna seemed just a little too eager to forgive and forget. But getting intro'd to all the friends was interesting. This book definitely felt like a set up for the rest of the series.

I didn't like the casual view of sex these people had. He breaks it off so he can play the field while he's at college, he only comes back as he has an injury.
His ex-girlfriend is pregnant and he is going to pay for an abortion. Not likeable at all.
