Very good mystery that has a lot of build-up and tension. A fast read, smartly written.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat. Focusing primarily on Annie and what was running through her head. Throughout the book it was a bit of question of insanity as we dove into all the main character's psychs and their mental status. Even though we were on the verge of hysteria and paranoia most of the time the book flowed seamlessly with only a few points of confusion and these were mostly just when flipping from present day to past with Annie's story. Other than a few confusing parts I really felt immersed into this book. Knowing those with mental illness similar to both Annie and her mom it really hit home and depicted many emotions accurately. Absolutely loved the writing style and enjoyed that this book's focus was more of a laid back thriller.

I had a really good time with this. I haven’t necessarily been in the mood for thrillers, but this was a surprise. It had all the things we love in a thriller, but I feel like the main characters were all much deeper than a normal thriller MC. I feel like in the middle it began to get a little repetitive— hence the 4 and not 5 ⭐️, but overall such a good time. I think this would be a great movie.
