Found this book to be quite enjoyable but why the nuts??? Could've easily chosen different theatre related food. As someone who has a nut allergy and has younger cousins with nut allergies it is very frustrating to come across a great book that for someone highlights nuts. Please show there are other tasty food options out there.

Cute. Pretty predictable, but, then again, you might want young kids to guess what will happen.

What a wonderful story about supporting your friends and how they can allow one to step out of their comfort zone. @devpetty 's The Bear Must Go On, a group of forest friends get excited (putting it VERY mildly) about creating and putting on a show for the rest of the forest - all of them except Bear who is very shy but still wanting to help his friends says he will keep note. Well the group brainstorm madly and bear quietly and quickly adds the ideas of his friends his notebook all the while humming and singing a tune to himself. From designing curtains to snacks the group adds ideas and proceeds to carry out their plan. When the curtain goes up and Bear's three friends realize they forgot to write a show, Bear has an idea, and with the support of his friends The Bear Goes On. Wonderful story with beautiful illustrations by @heybtodd who captures the personality and the hectic pace of Fox, Squirrel and Rabbit balancing it out with calm and quiet Bear - everyone will see themselves somewhere in the story.

Super sweet book about stage fright and what is truly important in creating a show. (hint: it's not the hats.) Recommended for grades 1 and up.

Bear is more than happy to help his friends put on a show—so long as he gets to work behind the scenes! Need hats? Or a curtain? Or shiny tickets? Bear has it covered. However, when the audience takes their seats, Bear's woodland pals can't help but feel like they've forgotten a very important piece of the production. Can Bear overcome his stage fright to save the day?
Theatre is magic, and author Dev Petty taps into this with an adorable take on the ever-classic 'Let's put on a show!' trope. One rabbit and two squirrels team up with Bear for a theatrical event, with the focus on making it a big, splashy affair. Heavy on dialogue, Petty's text clips along, emulating the often frenetic energy often found backstage. Expertly, she juxtaposes this against Bear, a calm and cooling force who rests at the heart of the story.
She's aided by Brandon Todd's downright charming illustrations. Rich yet somehow never heavy, Todd starts with a softer, almost storybook, palette with splashes of color. But by showtime, as the sun has long set, his spreads becoming darker until the stage pops against a moonlight spotlight. It's a total joy to look at.
Ultimately, Petty and Todd have crafted a gorgeous book that explores the lengths people, as well as bears, will go to help out a few friends.
Note: I received a free ARC of this book through Edelweiss.

The Bear Must Go On is a cute picture book about four forest animal friends who “leap before they look.” While meticulously planning out every detail of putting on a show from the curtain to the tickets to what food will be served, they invited everyone in the forest to attend and forgot one very important detail: TO PLAN A SHOW!! But don’t worry, together these furry friends were able to discover the things that truly matter when performing on stage. The artwork in this book was created digitally.
