The green first aid kit is open, with rolls of bandages, eye drops, butterfly stitches spilling out over the vanity like entrails. In my hand are the tiny pointed scissors. Before my eyes, they open and close and open and close. I can hear him coming up the hall.
Call Me Evil is a novel to keep you guessing. It's a psychological mind turner from start to finish and if you enjoy psychological thrillers, this one is for you.

Wow! This is the first book i have read like this - reminds me of a true crime. You definitely have to have some patience with this book because for the first few chapters I was just straight up CONFUSED. But as the story unravels, although you stay confused, it makes you feel even more involved in the story itself as you figure out the storyline along with the character. Once the story came together the curve balls just kept coming up until literally the very last page. This wasn’t my absolute favorite book ever but it was an interesting read and would be on my recommendations list!

I struggled to get into this but at about the halfway mark, couldn’t put it down. The story follows Evie, a teen who is being held captive by a man she refers to as her uncle. We’re never sure which one of them is telling the truth - did she really do something terrible, or is he lying to her? The story covers 2 timelines - the ‘before’ when Evie was a teenager living in Melbourne, and ‘now’ where she is held captive in small town NZ.
