This was just a good book- while I thought I had all the relationships figured out at the 70% mark- I still felt inclined to continue reading to see if I was right.

I was in the mood for something different. Southern...check. A little Romance...check. A title with a flower name to welcome Spring...check.
This was a great story and wonderfully written. The story was such a different one with some slight surprises. I loved the characters. Maybe, the bad ones were so obviously bad and the good ones were so obviously good. But I didn't hate that aspect of it. I loved Sadie and Libby and Sierra and others and mostly, I loved Margaret who saw things on the practical side. She accepted things and moved on like it was nothing. She accepted her lot in life, but kept things that needed to be kept. I felt without her, maybe this story wouldn't have moved as much. Well, and of course Olivia.
Like most stories like this, it was predictable. Granted, I didn't know how I was going to get to the end, but I did expect the ending. There were a few turns that I didn't expect, but just enough predictability.
In the whole, it warmed my heart to read this and I was happy I picked this for Springtime. I'm really digging picking a book based on the season.. It helps me narrow my choices easier when I have so much to read.

3.5. The storyline was unique and kept me engaged. Flipping between three time periods was a little confusing. Relationships felt a bit rushed and not fully developed.

I enjoyed reading this Historical Fiction book. Taylor has a great way of weaving the story together and bringing her characters to life. I did feel like the ending was a little too quick and wish there was more content between the last chapter and the epilogue.

An incredible well written family saga that tells the story of several different women across dual time periods and the ties that bind them all together. Beautiful and poignant it captures the time periods in such a way that you feel like you are their with the characters, experiencing what they are going through and the turmoil just grabs you and won't let go! It evoked an array of emotions and it has taken me a few days to mull them all over. There is some darkness and definitely some pain and sadness. It's sweet and charming and the friendships formed are inspiring. Loved it so much! It's always a pleasure to discover new and talented authors to add to my library.

Honeysuckle Season has an abundance of strong female characters. There is an intriguing dual timeline in this story, The first is set in the 1940's and the second in the present. I loved the descriptions of the Carter family estate in the small town of Bluestone Virginia, The story explores themes of friendship, grief, and living with our choices. I have enjoyed every Mary Ellen Taylor book I have read, and this is no exception.
