Shared secrets
I started reading this as a light fluffy romance, but was pleasantly surprised to see the twists it took. The ending didn’t surprise, but satisfied.

Well written, a little predictable, but still a good read. I liked the alternate narrative between past and present. The past story was more intriguing and less predictable than the present.
I would have liked a little more exploration into some of the secondary characters like Sadie's brothers and Olivia's husband. There are details from their stories that would have been interesting to explore.

Didn't get to it before it had to go back to the library.

A decent storyline full of family drama and secrets that jumps back and forth between decades and points of view. This feels more like a story born in the deep south than it does Virginia. The plot twists were obvious and I’m still grappling with all the family ties and trying not to use the I word… Book #57 in 2022

Very predictable but good hallmarky type book! Good entertainment but not super deep or though provoking- which is sometimes okay! That’s what I was looking for in this book!

Good Beach Read
Excellent combination of romance, triumph, and intrigue. Strong female characters make the historical portion come alive. Moves quickly without feeling rushed.

3.5 ⭐️ I originally felt like this was moving really slow for the first 60%ish. But I really appreciate the way the story from the early 1940s tied into the 2020 story and how all the characters stayed pretty much consistent throughout. I saw the need for a love story, especially for Libby, but Libby and Colton are 3rd-4th cousins since Edward Carter and Malcom Carter were cousins. Other than that, it was a cute story
