I enjoyed this look at women in England during WWII and how they dealt with clothing rationing.  I knew about the rationing but had not realized how strict it was.  It was fascinating how creative the women were and how they shaped fashion trends using less material and doing without certain notions like hooks and fasteners.  The romances were obvious but sweet, adding to the story's charm.
