I enjoyed this look at women in England during WWII and how they dealt with clothing rationing. I knew about the rationing but had not realized how strict it was. It was fascinating how creative the women were and how they shaped fashion trends using less material and doing without certain notions like hooks and fasteners. The romances were obvious but sweet, adding to the story's charm.

This book was okay. I liked the premise, and the characters were likeable enough but I felt bored at times. I did not particularly enjoy the writing and felt that the dialogue was kind of clunky. I also felt like the main characters were having the same conversations over and over.

This was a sweet and fun historical fiction set in WWII Britain. While the plot is simple, the character growth is beautiful. Overall, I found it to be a easy and enjoyable read. One friend described it as a grown up American Girl story.

I appreciate the balance between romantic relationships and friendships. Some of the plot is predictable, but in a way that felt earned and not forced. There were times that I thought I knew where the story was going and was pleasantly surprised when it did not.
