Found the romance in this one to be the sweetest out of the four. The suspense was ok for me.

I kicked this book up 1 additional star to 5 because there's a part at the end that totally surprised me and I actually gasped when I read it. It's rare for a book to have something catch me off guard like that.

A fun read, if a little forgettable. Dare I say it, Kat was a little bit dull, not really having much to her personality beyond her issues relating to her heritage and her ideas of love. And Gabe fit nicely into the alpha-male-hurt-by-the-past-and-scared-to-love-again box (lots of hyphens!). Still, I'm a sucker for the kinds of series where you meet future heroes and heroines so I suspect I will be reading a few more I-Team books.

Baru kali ni ada seri yang aku kasih semuanya 5 bintang :O

Tapi I-Team ini emang keren sih, jadi ga usah ragu2 kasih 5 bintang

Cewe yang masih virgin tapi strong willed? Check

Cowo keren playboy, mantan Park Ranger yang jadi bodyguard, leave'em and love'em type, anti komitmen, tapi akhirnya jatuh cinta juga ma cewenya? Check

Kebudayaan Indian dan segala lika liku politik Amerika? Check

Penjahat yang ga bisa ditebak sampe akhir? Check.

Review lengkap menyusul (plus gambar2 :P)

Note : Bayangkan si Gabe Rossiter, hero buku ini, mirip Alex O'Loughlin dari Hawaii 5 O

*3.5* Navajo investigative journalist Kat James is a virgin in her late 20's. I understand the conservatism of her Navajo upbringing and where she lived, but I found it somewhat implausible that she had never even touched herself. Kat meets rock climbing expert and park ranger Gabe Rossiter, after he saves her life. He's been hurt by a woman in the past so he becomes a manwhore to cover his pain. (Insert eye roll) Despite my annoyance with this premise, the overall story and mystery is really well done.

The heroes from books 1-3 are in this one, it was nice to have them helping solve this mystery. The ending was quite satisfying.

Warning: This review may contain minor spoilers!!!!!

4.5* I finished this earlier today and have been thinking about it before I leave a rating and review. In many ways I loved this book. Halfway through the book I was sure I had a rare 5-star review in my hands. The characters were so well-developed and believable. Clare was successful in getting the reader to identify with the hero and heroine, making them people of character, but with believable, genuine flaws. The characters never "broke" character, either, which I always appreciate. I appreciated once again that there were no "big misunderstanding" scenes or other silly plot devices to provide tension. The relationship had tension enough from the characters themselves. Gabe is wonderful, and Kat was a woman I can admire and respect.

So why 4-stars instead of five? First, as so often happens in romance books, the ending, or at least the epilogue, was a little too "hearts and flowers" for me. I would rather have seen some adjustments and struggles due to what happened.

But mostly I give it four stars because this is suppose to be romantic suspense, and in this book, the suspense plot play a very definite second fiddle to the romance plot. In Clare's previous three titles in this series, the suspense plot was at least as strong as the romance plot. In The Naked Edge, the suspense plot almost completely disappears in the middle third of the book. I don't mean things don't happen, but very little depth or detail is given into what is going on behind the scenes..the investigation. Overall, the suspense/mystery is actually very straightforward and uncomplicated and felt more like the plot of a sixty-minute TV police procedural. I think a lot more could have been done with that, and felt the "reveal" was a little out-of-the-blue (it needed more red herrings and suspects). So half-a-star off for underdeveloped suspense plot. But don't get me wrong. I imagine this will remain on my top 10 list for 2010.

Udah lama dari terakhir baca seri I-Team.
Kali ini kisah asmara Kat dan Gabe.
Tentang kaum Navajo, apa karena udah baca 3 buku sebelumnya jadi udah tahu pola romansa juga cerita i-teamnya sendiri ya?

Okay... this one was my favorite (sorry Sophie and Marc, but this one just surpassed you). I could not get enough of this one and never wanted it to end. Now that it is over I am ready for more... of them!! Gosh, I learned so much about the Indian culture too and that made the inner nerd in me do a happy dance. Seriously though, this one is my FAVORITE!!! :)
