Messy mixed with meticulous

Job def needed a match and Tessie was a fun foil for him. They had some good back and forth, although most of the relationship seemed to be about Tessie helping him loosen up.
Biggest pet peeve, Tessie calling Job honey nonstop. Every once in a while is fine. Every few paragraphs is obnoxious.

Spice: 3/5

Triggers: pandemic, death, murder, fire, grief, emotional abuse of child, violence and gore

FMC (Tessie): 4 (witty and admirably deflective - I liked that she was both one of the most powerful forces in the universe and incredibly vulnerable)
MMC (Job): 4 (it was great to see Job let his hair down a bit)
💕: 4 (the Elemental Phases men are just so obsessed - looking at you Chason - it's everything I want. I kind of wish the angst in the "fake" matches plot line was dragged out a bit more but also they were just hilariously cute together and deserved a break)
Plot: 3 (the whole Kay storyline wasn't landing for me - although I do love Kingu - more couple time I beg of you, Cassandra)
🌶: 3
Writing: 3.5

This is good. This author is fantastic. For some reason I couldn’t quite get into this. I’m a mood reader and should probably have come back to this one. I have read entry read all of the fairytale series and expected more of that kind of humour but this is more intense

Unfortunately, this wasn't great. Even the humor fell flat for me and even though the plot moved more in this book I didn't like the main characters that much. I am really excited for Gion's book though.
