State of Terror by Louise Penny and Hillary Clinton (#2 in 2022)

Ellen Adams, the new Secretary of State, witnesses as a series of terrorist attacks happens around the world. While many questions remain, Ellen knows that she has to use her resources to figure out the perpetrator before her own country is next.

Tell me how I ended up with TWO five star reads right at the start of the new year. I haven't read a good political thriller in a LONG time, but this one really hit the mark. State of Terror is so suspenseful that it's hard to put down at the end of a chapter because you immediately need to know more. Ellen Adams is such a dynamic character, but she is not the sole focus of the book. The point of view shifts between various characters in different countries, giving the reader a full grasp on the situation as it unfolds.

Anyone who has heard me talk about this book already knows that I'm convinced this needs to be a mini-series. It gives me a similar vibe to the show Homeland back in its early years.
