not sure how to write a book review, but i did enjoy it quite a bit. i loved the narrative, and jane eyre is quite a likeable character. i do admit, the age gap was a bit weird for me (and it still kind of is) but the book is a product of it’s time, brought apparent by many other things that happen. i especially enjoyed reading the beginning chapters, about her life as a child, and i found those years thoroughly exciting to read about. i found myself drawn in to the playful banter between jane and rochester. i love how jane is independent, and can be labelled as a feminist for her time. will definitely look forward to rereading in the future.
