IDK why anyone likes this book. It has an interesting, albeit overdone overarching plot of fae princess has no magic, gets abducted by rebel forces. However, the plot is non-existent, almost the entire book takes place in a vague underground training facility and serves as a backdrop for the MCs forced romance. We really see nothing about the world or the politics that are theoretically driving the "plot". Additionally, the romance is icky at best, rapey at worst. The MMC is constantly forcing the highly sheltered FMC into fairly aggressive sexual situation, culminating in what I would say is revenge rape. Really not picking, but we never really see any reason for them to be fae or have magic. The FMC suddenly discovering her magic ability is just swept under the rug with no emphasis. What is the point??
Overall, a boring book with unnecessary lack of consensual romance.
