Solid 4+. Well-crafted and engaging, this series needs to be read in full to get any sense of closure. The first introduced the wide cast of characters, the second builds the depth and complexity of their relationships, and the last resolves the conflict. Living through a pandemic also gives an interesting perspective to human nature during crisis, and I found myself nodding and scoffing throughout. (Posting same review to each book in the series.)

CAN TODAY BE THE END OF 2017?
For I want this trilogy to be the last book I read this year – I want to end this year with a trilogy that has taken over my heart, mind, body and soul over the last 27 hours it took me to get through them (I counted each one of them!).
This trilogy is one of the BEST DYSTOPIAN NEW ADULT books I have had the honor of reading this year – Loved every single character right from the first book; Unknown (Read My Review) through the trials and tribulations in the second one, Unrest (Read My Review) – and I stood with them through the conclusion.
The writing is what got hooked me into this series; and it was kept me glued in throughout the marathon reading I did – Ms. Higgins is the master of emotional manipulation, with everything she threw at the characters, they came out right at the top again and again.
Some might have found the plot line a bit convenient (even with my emotional attachment, I can’t stop my inner logic to shut up!); but I adored it. Mostly ‘cause the pacing of the story ends up being constant throughout the trilogy – something that is almost unheard of in series.
Add to the usual POV, is the POV of Amber’s best friend Remy; which was a genius stroke on the author’s side – it bought a fresh outlook to the plot that could have otherwise turned a bit chunky.
All in all, a wonderful conclusion to a trilogy that I requested to review because it was something different and it pretty much delivered, every single way!
