I'm Not Scared is a compelling and beautifully written book told from the point of view of a 9 year old boy in Italy. It was a scorching summer in 1978 that Michele made a monumental discovery whilst out playing with his friends. The awfulness of this discovery only gradually dawns on him. This is gripping and upsetting but I had to know how it ended!

I read this book on vacation in 24 hours. Totally riveting. Really captures what it's like to be in a nine year old boy's head. Loved it!
