I'm so glad I picked this series. It was a refreshing change from all the typical YA BS. This is such a well crafted story with intelligent plot, creepy bad guys and well developed relationships. The two main characters are just the way I want main characters to be like. Their intelligence and deductive thinking is out of this world!
I'm really torn between the rating though. As much as I loved this book, I wasn't blown away by it, and at times, not many times though, I was frustrated by the rate certain things were going at. It felt like something was missing there, I mean it WAS there, but not quite. In short, I wasn't completely satisfied. First...it was confusing and frustrating and unsatisfying. But I'm glad the way it ended. I'm glad my favorite characters had their happy ending. But I'm also sad because this series had the potential of becoming one of my favorites but in the end it didn't. I love this series, but it fell short in a few things. First book was absolutely amazing, second book was great, and third book is the weakest link, even so I loved this book too. But not quite.

I didn't like how Kestrel lost her memories. Then after she regained some of them, I was still confused where she stood in her relationship with Arin. She remembered her letter to him but even then didn't think she loved him.iduska's review against another edition

This book was definitely not as good as the first two. I was really disappointed in how slow paced it was and how nothing was HAPPENING! But I do still love the characters and their development! Kestrel is on point and Arin is a sweetie pie!

The second time I read this book, I noticed so many details. The writing is much more mature and powerful, which reflects the nature of Arin and Kestrel’s relationship. Also, I had previously thought that Kestrel and her father’s relationship was worse off than it really was.
Beautiful book, great relationship between 2 intelligent, well matched people
