The last in the Drake Sisters series...it did not disappoint! This series has been getting steadily darker and this one was chock full of disturbing events. I do feel that she let up on the darkness and settled into a more traditional romance towards the end. That being said Elle and Jackson were a really great couple and perfect for each other.

Each sister and her significant other got at least one moment to shine in this installment. The climax was a little underdone to me...she could have put more in there for me, but overall I really enjoyed how it all ended.

Christine left it open to return to this world in several different ways and I can't wait. I also think it might be time to revisit the sisters from the very beginning again.

The best part of this book for me was that it was the continuation of the Drake sisters story. I found the sexual torture at the beginning of the book a bit disturbing for a summer read at the beach house. Christine Feehan's books often feature torture and other disturbing topics that I don't usally associate with a fun, funny, romantic romance. I'll have to be more careful with my future selection, if I'm looking for a disturbing, freak-out horror story then that's what I'll borrow, when I want a romance, I want a romance.

Definitely the best of the series. I was really surprised at the direction she took the story. Although tough to read at times (because of the content) overall it was very well done. Kudos to Feehan for closing out the series in such a great way.

Although..from events that happened in this novel I'm wondering if she isn't planning a spin off of some kind?

Elle is the youngest of the Drake sisters, the one with all of the powers, the one destined to have seven daughters. She's been mentally linked to Jackson Deveau for a long time now, the only thing that kept him sane while he was being tortured. Well, now Elle is the one who's in trouble. A man with powers has kidnapped her and is driving her insane. Her family and Jackson come to the rescue but she's a broken woman. It's up to them to help her heal. But Stavros Grastis is still after her and she'll need some help taking him down.

Okay this seems like the perfect book to do my first Goodreads review for. I have seen some very harsh reviews out on the web for this book and first let me say that I totally understand why. The subject matter is considerably darker in the seventh book of the Drake sisters series. The rape and horrible abuse that Elle suffered though is more than anyone should have to go though. All of the things that you find both Jackson and Elle have survived because of each other. Their love story was probably my favorite next to Joley and Ilya. The way that all of the sisters, their men and the town pulled together to help Elle was great. I only problem I had with the book is the same one I have with all series closers. Its the last one. I am so bad with letting go of the characters I want to know what happens afterward.

I think I really enjoyed this book because Christine Feehan didn't shy away just because fans were going to be upset,She gave us the book that we needed. This is something that happens in this world everyday and just because it makes us uncomfortable and upset doesn't mean it doesn't belong in our favorite authors books. So I give this book five stars and look forward to my next Christine Feehan novel.

Trigger warning for rape. Which I can handle, but I know others can't.

Loved this book so much, easiest book in the series for me to read, because the font size was bigger, and yeah, can't wait to get to the sisters of the heart series now!

*First read January 1st 2009*
Great book, and while I read it first of the series, it was so good, and yeah, really enjoyed it, and it left some threads open for the spin off series!

-trigger warning, contains rape-

"he was asking what he hadnt done himself. he wanted acceptance without having to give anything of himself. and he had lost her."

"i'm so broken. inside and out. i dont know who i am anymore."

"can you feel their love for you?" (her sisters love).
"i cant feel anything but what he did to me, what he took from me."

"he's all over me. how am i ever going to get away from him?"

"maybe i'm losing my mind."
"and maybe you're traumatized."

"has anyone ever told you you're not the most soothing woman in the world?"
"the idea isnt to be soothing. its to knock some sense into your incredibly thick skull."

This book is really good. I will admit that the series, Christine Feehan's writing pattern is so obvious. I don't mind it at all, it is still perfectly written for me. At first, the raping thing was irritating to me but it broke my heart. I kind of hate the women weak part here. NOT OKAY

Girl power of the Drake sisters are very admirable and it never bores me. It's one of those books that actually keep you in suspense and the romance in it is just pure genius and really romantic. Duh. You can easily identify characters and gosh I love Jackson.

Elle and Jackson is just so cute and hot. They are a hot couple, although they are really different, they have experience things in there lives that they themselves can only understand. I really appreciate the fight for human trafficking in this series.

Again, this is series is just perfect even if it does has minor flaws. I don't care, I absolutely enjoyed it. The ending was very satisfying yet I want more of the Prakenskii. Ilya's hot brothers! Gosh...Must read!
