Could have been better-- yet still satisfying!!!!
This is the seventh book in Drake Sisters series. Seven sisters share extraordinary powers passed down through generations. With the older six sisters settled with their loved ones, its time for the youngest to unite with her soul mate. Elle Drake has always known she carries the Drake legacy and has to give birth to the next generation of Drake women. In her heart she knows it will be with handsome deputy of Sea Heaven Jackson Deveau. But Jackson has a dark past that he has always tried to protect Elle from- thinking of it as rejection Elle takes on a dangerous assignment to bring down a human trafficking ring. But she is kidnapped, harassed and abused. With the help of her sisters and their men Jackson rescues her and tries to mend her broken soul.
I have immensely enjoyed the Drake sisters series, especially since the last two books were so good. So,I had high hopes for this book but it was a bit disappointing. I believe what completely threw me off was the abuse that Elle was subjected to, it is what I have always come NOT to expect from Feehan books. Another disappointment for me was how little Elle got to use her powers; she has always been mentioned as the mysterious sister who possessed all the powers distributed among the rest of the sisters, so I expected to find more about Elle as a person. However, most of the book is about Jackson helping Elle recover from her tragic abuse, the two bonding, and accepting each other.
The story could have been a lot better but as always Miss Feehan’s unique prose filled with so much passion and emotion was what kept me reading. I liked how she drew all the characters together from the previous books, concluding all stories and ended the series beautifully. All in all I would say if you are a fan of the series, keep an open mind and give it a try.

A difficult but amazing end to a series! I struggled with the intense graphic descriptions of physical, mental, spiritual, sexual, and emotional abuse in the beginning, but was very satisfied with how it was all wrapped up! There is nothing like a happy ending for all!

ehhh...i wasn't...it was kinda...bleh...7th book of a 7 book series...knew all of the characters...and yet the author kept telling the reader about the powers and situation as if it was new...these girls are the 7 daughters of a 7th daughter and yet only one of their aunts is mentioned...at one point this aunt lives in sea haven and then for the wedding she has to arrive as if from a distance for the wedding...they are going to get married in a couple of days and then they are getting married the next day...the end with the house is kinda cool but no acknowledgment of what is happening to jackson's house before the move to the drake house...sarah is the oldest sister and elle is the strongest and yet this story like all of them almost in part seemed to be about hannah - who's story kinda sucked by the way when it was told in book 5

Loved the final story on the Drake sisters. It was deeply disturbing with the descriptions of abuses suffered but the realistic and raw story of overcoming this abuse and finally rising above was great and well written. The wrap up of the other 6 sister's stories and the evolution of the home was like icing on the cake! Thoroughly enjoyed and recommend but make sure you start with book 1!

Hidden Currents is the last book of the Drake Sisters series and I really enjoyed this instalment. In many ways, the order of this book seemed a little turned round with the kidnapping and then daring rescue happening at the beginning of the book and the rest of the book dealing with the aftermath and stopping the big bad.

In terms of just this book's story, I felt like we hadn't really seen to much of Elle before this book so we really only get to know post kidnapping Elle. I liked Elle and Jackson as a couple and thought they blended together well especially in the way they were there with each other through some very traumatic experiences. Their connection and chemistry seemed genuine wand I liked them together.

As as the conclusion goes, being a series conclusion as well the the instalment conclusion I guess I expected something bigger but in the end the solution, while not easy as such, still seemed somewhat easy to come by. There were quite a few threads left loose and whether this is because there is another new series set in Sea Haven after this, which i think centers around the Prakensii brothers

All in all while, I did enjoy the way some threads were tied up with characters from previous books brought in, this didn't really feel like a series conclusion and the ending ended feeling just a little rushed.

That being said, it was still an entertaining read and I give this book 4 stars

Oh man...this one was scary! with everyone's help, Elle battles the evil villain, Stavros while also fighting to win Jackson. Think of a paranormal James Bond...
