Not a bad book but nothing profound either. Pretty quick and easy and entertaining enough that I don’t have any real complaints.

SO close to being a 5-star read for me! I thoroughly enjoyed the writing style, and how each timeline and story and media add-on was laid out for readers. It’s so rare for me to find a book I enjoy the writing, emotions, characters fleshed-out, and plot line… but this was was a winner. I’ll DEFINITELY be checking out more of Hawkins’ books.

I took away a star because I had questions and disappointments about the book toward its end. Some pieces didn’t match up for me or felt like they were questioned enough within the book, which made me lose a bit of the immersion I was so enjoying… SO close, I say! But overall, and VERY good read for me!

This was not my favorite book by this author. I was interested enough to keep reading, but I found all of the characters unlikeable. I had a hard time connecting with them and their choices. My favorite character was probably Mari, and I liked her twist at the end of the story. I wish we'd gotten more info on Emily's mysterious illness. It felt unresolved to me.

Thanks to Netgalley for the book to review.

Before starting, I heard this book described as Verity meets Daisy Jones. I was intrigued. I knew I had to read it.

With this comparison I was hoping it would knock my socks off. It didn’t. BUT it was a page turner that I couldn’t put down and now I can’t stop thinking about it. So maybe it did what it was supposed to do?

If you enjoy books about books and writing this is for you. This was easily my favorite part of the read.

Thank you to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for this advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
