Slow Start but great ending and had a good couple of laughs in this one. Loved the sorcerer battle I found that pretty funny. Also pretty sad for Uhtred.

I read this one slower than the others in the series, but not because it was any less engaging (just life getting in the way). Always the adventure! Lots of foreboding in this one; I was dreading the outcome at the end, which fortunately was lessened a bit by my reading-in-small-doses method. I believe there is only one more in the series and I'll be sad to part from Uhtred!

Very good. A must read.

However, spoiler alert!
Don't read or forever be cursed.

I was kinda hoping they would show or talk about Stiorra's funeral. It was as she never existed. That's the only thing I find disconcerting.

Another banger of an Uhtred book.  This one might be one of my favorites so far. It was a lot more melancholy and tragic.  It kind of fits an Uhtred now in his 60's, an "old man."

What was the highlight for me in this book was the scenes between Uhtred and Aethelstan.  The vows were a real great twist and definitely have me excited for the last couple books in this series and what way this is going to go when it comes to Wessex taking Northumbria since we know it simply must based on the existence of England today.

Another good read in the series BUT, it is time to freshen this up. The whole “someone gets killed and They must be avenged” story is getting a bit old. Give us something fresh.

Another great tale in this series. I love when I see one of these books are available...I know I'm in for a great read with action, story and advancing a character I've grown to love these past years. Start at the beginning and make your way here to read of the Wolves.

Come on, Cornwell! You’re one to the best authors there are. I was hoping for another brilliant five star read!!

Still good but I’m used to great.

As always Cornwell does not disappoint. I think the older Uhtred gets the more fascinating he is as a character. This book has had more nervous and at the edge of my seat than I have been for a while.
