I honestly wasn't expected how truly refreshing, well documented and interesting the book is, and how engrossed in it I was going to be. So far my favorite of 2018, I am definitely reading more.

Don't waste your time. Reads as a middle school health guide.

I did not realize that actress, Cameron Diaz, was going to be an expert physician/nutritionist in this book. The Body Book is very scientific, like taking you through the human anatomy muscle by muscle then bone by bone. There were very few pictures of Cameron or personal stories which is all I want from my celebrity memoir type books.
The Body Book was definitely no memoir. It was a health, anatomy book but told in a kind of silly way. I just did not like it. Listened to it and there were large chunks of time where I did not pay attention but felt no need to go back and re-listen.

Middle school biology & common sense but written to inspire and promote good heath. I might have learned a thing or two, but rather dull.

This book stated facts about women's in a way that I could relate to and I adored that. It encouraged me to get a liter water bottle and chug it first thing in the morning. She focuses on listening to the body, and making you realize exactly how everything you do to your body translates into your everyday life. Bravo.

It was a good read to start off 2020 but it was full of info I’ve already learned from other books. Nothing terribly interesting but also not completely boring that I didn’t want to not finish it.

It's an ok book for someone who knows very little about nutrition. I liked the tone of the book but there is nothing outstanding about the content

I honestly enjoyed reading this book. Although she's not a doctor, she makes some good points that are worth reviewing. Some chapters held more value for me than others, but overall, I would recommend this book. I do feel I will make some changes in my habits based on it, and I think there's even more value for a 20-30-year-old woman. I borrowed the library book through Libby, but I'm glad that Goodreads saves the highlights so I can revisit them if needed. I read some of the Kindle version and also listened to some of the audio (which Diaz read).

If you know absolutely nothing about health and don't like a lot of jargon, this book is for you. Diaz takes complicated scientific concepts and explains it very clearly and directly. She also spins it in a very positive way leaving you feeling lighter and happier, like that positive friend you keep around because she always makes you feel better.
If you do have some knowledge about nutrition and health, this might not be for you. It will feel a lot like she's dumbing it down. This is very basic stuff, even if it is presented in such a positive way. If you want in-depth knowledge this is not the book for you.
If you want something that makes you feel better about making healthier choices instead of feeling like you're doing everything wrong, I recommend giving "The Body Book" a shot.
