I genuinely liked this story about two best friends who make a pact that if they are still single by the time they are thirty, they will take a chance on each other. Of course it's more complicated than that, because, they've actually always harbored secret feelings for one another and other relationships keep getting in the way. But when their moment comes, the chemistry is explosive and dynamic. I will say that I found some of the supporting characters to be manipulative and toxic and thought the story could have shown more of their growth, but that might be coming in the next book.

Hmm...well I don't really have too much to say about this one.

It was good, it was entertaining and I genuinely enjoyed the characters. However, there were some minor typos and a few times the story line made me cringe because it was just so predictable at times. Nevertheless though, it was a pretty decent story. I enjoyed it.

I think James is officially the worst. Friend. Ever. He called Linden selfish, but he was the most selfish bastard I've ever read about. That said. ~deep cleansing breath~

This was a cute story. I loved that Linden had wanted Stephanie as soon as he met her, but he knew James was interested, so he backed off. And he stayed back when they broke up. And he continued to stay back, because he thought James was hung up on her. Yet he couldn't resist making a drunken pact with her that if they were 30 and both single, they'd get married. The fact that it was Linden, such a good friend, a player, and he was drunk made his pact seem almost like a joke. Yet he'd bring it up every once in a while, making Stephanie wonder about him.

For Stephanie's part, it seems like she had been attracted to Linden for a while as well, but nobody made a move because of bloody freakin' James. When they started playing truth or dare when they all went on a weekend getaway, I knew what was going to happen. And it did. Thankfully... Linden's girlfriend was a bitch. And while Stephanie had fun with Aaron and he was apparently a looker, it was obvious there was no chance of long-term for them.

When Stephanie and Linden got together, I loved that he came clean about how long he'd been into her. And that she was able to do the same. And then bloody freakin' James ruined everything. Argh! I wanted to reach through my headphones and punch him. Hard. I kinda wanted to punch Linden, too, because he just TOOK IT. James was so far out of line, he could have been in China. Ugh, I was so mad at the whole thing.

I was very happy with where the story ended up. Such a great couple!

I am a HUGE fan of friends to lovers romances, so the blurb for this one caught my eye immediately. I one-clicked as soon as it went live and started reading within an hour.
I really, really enjoyed this story and can't stop thinking about how much I want a Linden McGregor of my very own. He's cocky and arrogant, but he's also sweet and vulnerable. Sometimes the things that he said were outlandish and inappropriate but somehow it really worked for him. The idea of him had me swooning from the very first pages.
I also found myself really liking Steph. I could see myself being friends with her for sure. James, on the other hand, managed to piss me off throughout a majority of the book. In the beginning I really thought he was a decent guy but as the story progressed he came across as a jerk with a unfounded chip on his shoulder.
I can see why this story might annoy some readers because of the constant misunderstanding or flat out denials about feelings but those things just made the story more authentic to me. Every day we deal in misunderstandings, it's what we do. I'd imagine that taking a long-term friendship to a different level, especially when other people are involved, is a scary and complicated thing. Would you really expect there not to be misunderstanding and/or hesitations?
This story was well-written and gave me all the feels. I was happy, I was sad, annoyed and extremely turned-on. Everything I look for in a good read. I can definitely see this becoming a top book of 2015 (only because most people have already compiled their lists for 2014, including myself).

I enjoyed this one but it wasn't without its faults for instance, although somewhat redeemable by the end someone should have told James to go f*ck himself long ago.

pretty good

Dragged a little towards the middle but sweet story. I liked that both sides were told. I would recommend it.

Love, love Karina Halle and will read anything she writes....not sure about this one though. I guess I just couldn't get my head around a guy who pinned after a girl for 9 years, got her and just gave her up for such a lame reason. I think I needed different back story for Linden and James for that to make sense.

I couldn't put this book down. I fell in love with the characters almost instantly. They had their flaws and I loved them because of them. This book has such an interesting concept. I loved it!!!
