Hello everybody my name is Sara and I'm running out of ways to describe my thoughts and opinions on generic romance novels and yet can't get myself to stop listening to generic romance novels. It's an illness there may not be a cure for.
I felt a little gypped in this one because it was listed under the "Marriages of Convenience" section on Audible Romance and there's no marriage of convenience. Yes, the two main characters make a pact to get married at age thirty if neither of them are married at that time, but no marriage occurs throughout the whole book.
This is a fine enough book, but as I said before, I'm just running out of things to say that I haven't already said about 90% of the other romance novels I've read this year. There was nothing truly special here, it wasn't particularly charming, witty, or fun, the chemistry between the characters was serviceable but not off the charts, and the plot was very been there done that. If you have read another book about a will they-won't they between two longtime friends, you've probably read this book before. It isn't bad, it just isn't unique.

3 The Pact Stars
I liked the early friendship we see between James, Linden, and Stephanie.
I think that is what hooked me to the story.
James was kind of a side character that I thought we needed a little more of Stephanie and James’ time together to get. I don’t know I didn’t feel there connection like the story wanted me to.
I lovvvved Linden before during and after. Just loved his character completely.
A little-passed half I started to struggle with the story, the triangle part of it just didn’t jive for me. I felt like they were being very immature about something when they were to have “grown up” in the story.
Overall the story was fun and interesting and what saves it for me was the narrators they do an outstanding job.
*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Who doesn't love a good friends to lovers story?
I loved the characters and the dialogue (ESPECIALLY Lindens dirrrty mouth). Such a delightful read.

Loved this book!
I love books where I finish it and wish I were friends with the characters and want to have lives like they do. This is one of those books! I want to live in San Francisco, own my own clothing shop and go to cabins with friends on the weekends, especially if one of those friends is Linden McGregor. These 2 had some serious chemistry, even before the real fireworks start. Read this book, you can thank me (and Ms. Halle) later.

Such a very nice read..this is my second book from Karina Halle and i loved it. I.understood that sometimes it is hard to find love when you are older and sometimes you best friend can.really be someone you will care about the most and end up being the one you will love forever. this book made me smile..great characters.

The Pact was a wonderfully executed friends to lovers romance. Linden and Steph story isn't going to be for everyone, it spans the better part of 5 years and within that time both characters date other people but once they acknowledge their feelings go beyond friendship they are exclusive. I appreciated that the book showed the complicated and often messy side of taking a friendship to the next level. If you're looking for a sexy, angsty, realistic friends to lovers romance then The Pact is the perfect read.
