A reasonable mystery plot in the classic setting of a early 20thC grand hotel (clearly the Savoy in London from the references to the Embankment and other real roads). Characters a bit caricatured, none terribly likeable. Some casually racist words and tropes that were probably expected to its contemporary audiences but shocking to (most) present day readers.
Graphic: Antisemitism
Moderate: Racial slurs
Anti-Black racism: feels weird to tag this as moderate but the N word (full word rather than collloquialism) is used a handful of times as a descriptor of a background character so not a detailed representation. Anti-semitism is throughout detailed descriptions of a minor but plot-crucial character who is a financier so you can guess how that goes, but the character himself is neutral-good so I think the writer at the time would not have considered it a cruel depiction.
