the idea for this series was really good but the actual story felt like the author watched one soap opera crime show and decided that was all the research needed and then threw romance in as an afterthought

I loved this series - and thought Rita did a fantastic job of finishing it up and providing closure for Amelia and the Slaughter Creek community. I read the entire 4 book (and one novella) series in less than a week because I just had to see what happened next. The suspense and plot twists kept the storyline interesting and the happy ending was the icing on the cake. I can't wait to read more from Rita Herron!

This was one of the best books of the series! At times, it felt very far-fetched, but the story was fast paced and action packed. It definitely gave us closure about Amelia and the things that had happened to her, and she found a hero that was definitely worthy of her and could handle what had happened in her past. John was as much of a victim as Amelia was, but he channeled that into doing good for others. I flew through this book and was sad to see it end, though we didn't get a full resolution into the project as I had hoped we would. I would definitely read more suspense by this author!
