Wow, what a ride! This series continued to get better with every book! Really well written and thorough world building. I loved the ending and I loved following the characters over their journey. I appreciated that this book had little time stamps to help keep track of the passage of time, which the other books did not. Overall, so good! Glad that I kept with the series after the 1st book, which was my lease fave of the trilogy.
OMG Ru and Hilo both had me shocked and teary eyed with their deaths *cue tears*. The take down of Wyles that led to the take down of Ayt Mada and ultimately the Mountain Clan was just so well written. *Chefs kiss*. The ending was just so well wrapped up and satisfying.

I loved the first two books in this series, but this one unfortunately disappointed me. The massive time skips made it feel like reading a summary a lot of the time, and the book's length felt unnecessary - a lot of things happened that didn't really seem to be that important and a lot of time was wasted restating the themes in case we missed them. A lot of the characters I liked in the earlier books (especially Shae and Wen) felt diminished, relegated into uninteresting roles and this book seemed way more invested in upholding the clan structure and nuclear family as solely positive forces than the previous books.

An incredibly emotional ending to the Green Bone Saga... I loved it. I feel like I've heard that people didn't like the ending to this, but I really felt a sense of peace with everyone. I did cry, but what else is new with this series. (Said entirely with love.) I wish I could live in Janloon forever, honestly.

The clan is my blood and the pillar is it's master. A beautiful conclusion to the green bone saga, I have loved following the Kaul family across this decades long story and seeing how family dynamics and country politics can change over generations.

Fonda Lee did an excellent job of leaving just enough breadcrumbs to believe the choices, but really decided that all is fair in jade and clan war. Often times I find endings to be pretty neutral, this is one that I think wrapped up beautifully.

Kaul Hiloshudon is my pillar.

This final book in the Green Bone Saga is quite the feather in the cap. It takes place across multiple decades, showing our characters age and come into their fates, making choices that put them at odds with each other, showing long time plans come to fruition and falter. I particularly like how this final instalment shows the begrudging respect between rival clan members and how military industrial complex and international governments impact Kekon. I can’t recommend this series enough
