This wasn't a cozy mystery, it was a friggin' soap opera. It starts with Adie preparing for her wedding, walking down the aisle, then an idiotic "stop!" It seems Simon is magically still married though he didn't know it and, oh yeah, he has a kid he didn't know about it. Didn't care to read far enough to find out about the main mystery, this was just too dumb to continue reading.

The main character is deeply in likable and her whiny, melodramatic personality is beyond tolerable. I can’t believe I put up with it for 8 books so far but this “ruined wedding” nonsense plot only makes sense if you’re a preteen and have no knowledge of how marriages work or what real relationships are actually like. This wasn’t a favorite in the series, but I do like the doors it opened.

The Ninth Book of the Beyond the Page Series

This is the ninth book of the beyond the page cozy mystery series. Addie, a bookshop owner in a small seaside town is ready to get married to Simon but the wedding is halted when Simon’s ex storms in and informs everyone that she and Simin are still married because her uncle never filed the annulment papers.

Another great book in this cozy mystery series!
