Informative, but so dry I had to slog through it. Nevermind that that’s backwards, it was what it was. (Will be checking the other books mentioned throughout out though).

Five stars for content. A bit of a slog to get through but so worth it.

Williams lays out a pretty damning case against US actions in Africa during the 1960s. I should have read this visually because I had a hard time following in audio form. People who regularly read history will probably get more out of this than I did.

A provocative title for a book that says nothing original nor interesting.
White Malice is disappointing on several fronts. 85% of the book is about the Congo and Ghana only for Williams to remember that this is supposed to be a book about the continent. The last 15% of the book feels extremely rushed.
I hate the writing style. I see some people describing it as “dense” and I could only wish for that. This reads like an 10th grader’s history report. Physically painfully to get through.
Uninspired attempt at a survey of American covert neocolonization on the African continent but I can guarantee that there are better books on the subject out there.

Shocking but not shocking. Colonization in all forms is the root of all problems in the world. The US are the colonizers of the 20th and 21st century. This was confirmation of some of the horrible things they have been responsible for.
