Since its publication Doushitemo Furetakunai by Kou Yoneda has been a popular comic. About two coworkers the single volume is a notable early work, from complexity, substance and technique. Possibly it is the balanced characterization of the pair here which makes this BL comic so appealing. Aspects that might appear a bit cliché at first rather expand personalities, concerns, and background. Rather than being a prerequisite the sensual content of the volume fits naturally. An effective structure that can be recognized in subsequent comics by Kou Yoneda. It is also another work in the genre to receive a live-action adaptation, though I found the comic was stronger.

Admired in multiple languages the English edition titled No Touching at All was first published in October of 2010, translated by Jocelyne Allen, debuting Kou Yoneda to Anglophones. Unfortunately, it has been exceedingly hard to find and costly until 2016 when it was reprinted, then 2019. Instead of being a boon to readers and fans though, reprints suffered printing glitches thanks to the publisher’s poor methods. It’s frankly a disgrace to the subtle artwork of Kou Yoneda. Locating an old print copy will also be more complicated. As is a bad habit with Digital Manga the number line and dates on the colophon page were not updated. However, I did notice a “Printed in Canada” above the barcode box on the back cover of the reprint only. In addition, I feel the English localization could have benefited from another pass and I wish it was revised. Shame not to, but then along with keeping titles in print such opportunities are also something seldom taken advantage of with the publisher. Finally in 2023 a second edition (also printed in Canada but looking much better plus clearer cover and colour page) with new translation by Ailie B. is finally available ISBN#9781569704097.
