Can we talk about the love letters? THE. LOVE. LETTERS. That is where I truly start to cry in earnest and I pretty much weep through the end of the book. What a beautiful, all-encompassing love story for these two.
And wow the way you heel turn on Celeste? Those scenes make me tear up every damn time. I love this series so much.
I could potentially knock this book for the character, in his entirety, of King Clarkson but I love the way the author uses the people of Illéa and Maxon as his foil to show that he truly is not the type of leader they want and/or deserve.
Wow, every page of this book is a worthwhile read and I’m so glad to have experienced it again. I absolutely adore a YA-dystopian fiction story and this one one-ups the Hunger Games by having a more romantic story at the center.
