Thank the heavens for that cover change, this one definitely captures the mood of the book better than bubbles and butterflies. Just sayin.

OVERALL I'm disappointed. Definitely didn't captivate me like the Ruby Red Trilogy.

DNF at about 60% of the audio book. I enjoyed the previous trilogy I read by this author, but there were things actually happening in the first book of that series…. Not so much in this one. It meanders around without ever really explaining anything, and all the various romances are boring. I can’t even keep any of the love interest teenage boys straight. And the mom is dingbat.

I completely adore this whole series so this will have to do as a spoiler-free review for all three books.

I originally read the series back when it first came out but I reread it this January and figured it's finally time to write a review.

The main character, Liv, has one of the best narrating voices with just the right amount of humour I ever read and the characters are overall amazingly written, all with their own backstories and motives.

At first I thought these books were just Kerstin Gier's first series and Gossip Girl mashed together but they are completely unique although there are some parallels.
The storyline is intoxicating and has its fair share of plot twists. While this book's main theme is fantasy, it also has a contemporary plot going on and it's really more of a book about growing up, falling in love and finding your place in the world than it is about a highly developed fantasy world.

Overall, this is a light-hearted, funny read and I would highly recommend it.

This was a very interesting read that has been on my to read list for ages and I've only now got round to it.

The main character Liv moves to a new town and realises the guys from her dream are real and in her new school. It's a bit of a mystery as to how these guys let Liv into their dreams or why. And while I did enjoy reading it I can say there was nothing really particularly noteworthy about this character.

The secondary characters are the guys and while they are nice to read about them they didn't have any particular substance about them.

The storyline was OK but the pacing let it down by dragging too much in the middle and allowing me to lose interest. I'm not sure if I want to continue with the rest of the series, I need to think about it.

I'm so excited for a new series from Kerstin Gier. This book is set in London and is all about the dream world. Wouldn't it be interesting if we really could visit people in our dreams? Hmm. In this book Liv stumbles into a mystery which involves four boys from her new school. The boys need Liv to help them complete something they'd previously started which involves releasing a demon. Good thing Liv doesn't really believe in demons. Good thing the boys are all really good looking. :)
