I didn't like this book as much as I wanted to. Parts of it got me in whereas other parts I couldn't wait to get through. Yoshiko is certainly not a likeable character and nothing she did could endear her to me. She used everyone who came in contact with her to her own advantage (and they used her) and in the end, it was her undoing.
