Great beginning

This book kept you wanting more. Love how you are no able to learn the back story of each character and how they became to know each other.

The characters are so vivid, so lively. Just when you think you know the entire story, they keep coming back with more, back story, and it is so stimulating. The Ms. Bettie, mama situation was super juicy, and unexpected, she is tough as nails. She is the mother of boys.
My lingering question, is how Chippy, went from a working whore at Big Shirley’s to bourgeois wife of a car/drug dealer. I know how, but it was interesting. You know how some authors go too far with sequels and they start to get monotonous, THESE AINT THOSE AUTHORS! The story is bold, consistent and maintains an awesome mental imagery (if that’s a thing). These reviews are hard, because you don’t want to spoil the body of work. I HIGHLY recommend. The evolution of the characters is amazing. Anxiously anticipating more!

If you haven't read the first three books read those before reading this one. This book just ties in all the characters from the beginning. Read it two days.

Great read

Carl Weber didn't disappoint with this book. It's great reading to where it all began for the Duncan's. Don't want to give anything away so if you have read the other book in this series I highly suggest reading this.

As usual, Carl Weber doesn't disappoint with this one either. I was wrapped around every word from beginning to end.

I took my time with this one...Shirley was not one of my favorite characters in this book

Carl Weber is a literary genius! Each books gets better and better. Grand Opening is the back story of the Duncan family and how the family business started. It shed a lot of light and gave me anew appreciation for Chippy. This is definitely a must read! Bravo to Carl Weber!!

Good book but it took a lot to keep me focused. I typically read books in two days.
