Damon Torrance will live rent free (actually I might pay for his rent so he stays) in my head for probably the rest of my life. This book was beautiful. Two people who truly healed from having each other.
I enjoyed Winter’s POV because it wasn’t your normal POV since she’s blind. It was so unique reading how she navigated the world through her other senses.
Thank you Damon & Winter, love you both forever & ever.

I was so thrown by this one. Honestly, I'm still not sure what my overall rating is. I know by the end I was really into it. I love how the other characters from the series are all coming together. I also have a feeling my confusion regarding some of the motivations are because I listened to this in a 20+ hour audiobook and have the attention span of a fruitfly. BUT, all that to say, I still don't understand why Damon was just given a redemption arc...? Like he was the primary antagonist in both book one AND two... and now he's the third book and all is forgiven..? I won't lie and say I didn't enjoy the book because when all is said and done, Penelope Douglas knows how to write tension and yearning. but... LITERALLY WHAT WAS HE DOING??? AND WHAT FOR??? HE'S CRAZY GUYS. I am SO CONFLICTED. His backstory is heartbreaking and it explains why he had such fucked up ways of thinking about people and himself. BUT DOES THAT EXCUSE HIM WANTING TO KILL PEOPLE??? AND BEING WEIRD WITH WOMEN ???? NOT AT ALL. So.. yeah I'm conflicted. I think it's entirely possible I just took too much time between the reads of these books so I'm only remembering the crazy shit. Am I still getting this book in paperback to reread and annotate? 100%. Don't get me wrong, I still ate this up. And I also loved how the world was described when in Winter's perspective with her being blind. It added a whole new experience to her and the world around. BUT ALSO, there was a weird stalker that was pretending to be Damon...? And they just kinda glazed over that real quick? Or maybe I wasn't paying enough attention. Either way, it was confusing and just added another layer of shit I had to figure out. Still rating this 4 stars. I don't doubt it's a good book, I think I just have a confused perspective because of the previous books. Idk. Still gonna read it again. Maybe my rating will change after that. We'll see.

I loved this book way too much for my own good. It had me SOBBING! I’m in love with Damon Torrence and all his twisted and possessive ways of showing love. His story absolutely BROKE ME, he deserves the world and to be protected at all costs. Damon and summers love story was tragic, heartbreaking, and healing all at the same time. I love how he shows his love for her, his softer side made me melt. SHOWING HER WHAT COLORS FEEL LIKE?! I’m dead, done, dying. This book is permanently etched in my heart. Best of the series so far.

Why o why 😩😩😩
This book was everything I wanted and more. I hated Damon so much before this. Penelope is the only person who can make me go from hatred to “should I just take my clothes off here” in one chapter. Damon definitely redeemed himself. The dark and dangerous one had my heart beating out of my chest like crazy. I’m catching a running theme in this series and I got to say I can’t wait for Will. Don’t even second guess starting this book or even this series. Just do it. Don’t ask questions. Just open the book and start. Chapter one will get you hooked. When the book ended I had to remind myself they weren’t real 🤦♀️🤦♀️
What a rollercoaster this series has me on. Bravo Penelope. Bravo!!

The book was better than I thought it would be. I was not a fan of Damon going into this book but by the end he was better.
