If you want spice, the second book is where it's at. Once they're married, Perry and Charlotte can't keep their hands off of each other, even if it's hate sex. But there's not a lot of substance to it other than that. I feel like there was no reason to break this up into parts other than for monetary gain even if it would've been a longer-than-usual book. I assume everything will be resolved in the third book, but there is no resolution, growth, or structure to the first two books that could justify them being separate volumes. There was, at least, a better ending to this book than the first one. Overall the story is bland, a regurgitated pile of words that we've all read before. There's nothing new, no twists, no turns, no excitement. Maybe it was all saved for the third book but I'm not going to bother paying for it to find out.
