Rip my heart out and flip all 25 previous volumes on their head. This volume was wild! Violent, tender, and the twist has me desperate for the next volume. Agni is killed by the true Ciel, our main character’s twin, who Tanaka welcomely accepts. I was not expecting this kind of turn around and the flash back has been a really interesting one for giving us details on Ciel and Spare’s relationship before their lives were torn apart. I love how Spare wanted to open his own toy shop and held himself back to allow for the test of his family to do their able bodied activities, but Ciel wanted to spend time with his brother whom he loved dearly. I’m wondering about the details of their separation, but this kind of ending to the performing arc is well worth the meh of the rest of it.

All of the author’s volumes are visually stunning and gorgeous, but it was just something about this volume where the artwork was above the rest. I think the time and effort placed in the volume made us the feel the fear in Lord Soma’s eyes when he said he would swear revenge. Or the endearing love between two innocent, inseparable brothers. The author/artist did a magnificent job in capturing all shades of emotions in this novel that takes the series on a completely different turn.
