Looking for something, I just stumbled across an old, pretty worn copy of this book and immediately lots of memories and feelings popped up.
As a little child, this was one of my absolute favorites and I listened to it and - when I was older - read it countless times.

To me this was far better than any of the other books by Astrid Lindgren and I know almost all of them. But not having read this book in a few years now, I can't really explain why this is. Probably that's another good reason to reread Ronja Räubertochter sometime soon.
Not that I wouldn't also reread it just because I used to LOVE it so much and now want to figure out why I did and hopefully still do.

I thoroughly enjoyed this little tale. I was a big fan of the author's Pippi Longstocking books as a child but had never heard of this one until recently. Now I have to find the movie version and watch it, as well.

Excellent story, Horrible text conversion.

The story itself is wonderful and I highly recommend it for any age reader. Ronia actually reminds me a lot of the character Katniss Everdeen.

But reading this particular copy was close to impossible. I actually bought the Audible version of the book to follow along till I figured out how it all went together. That shouldn't be necessary.

Read this as a bedtime story to my 2 boys. Although they normally enjoy a more action packed story they did like this book. There were lots of different ideas and terms to discuss with them. Not Astrid's best book but she sure knows how to describe scene and how to keep a child hooked.
