My son and I took turns reading these cases aloud and trying to solve them before checking the back.

Encyclopedia Brown was one of my first crushes as a little girl. Seems like brainy guys appealed to me then as well as now. So much fun to go back and revisit this old friend.

Encyclopedia Brown Gets His Man
(Book 4)
By Donald J. Sobol

A fun little mystery book. Several mini-mysteries for you to try and solve with answers in the back. Most are, expectedly, really easy. One or two I had to go back and see what I missed.
Great books for kids. I read them a lot when I was younger. It really helps train young readers to pay attention to the details. What's being said and not said.

RATING: 4.5 STARS

I loved this mystery series as a kid, but have not read them since so this review is based on my memories. My love of mystery started pretty early and Encyclopedia Brown was among my first series. Each book has several mysteries that you can solve along with Encyclopedia, complete with clues. I could not get enough of these books, and didn't realize that this series started in 1963.

These are easy to read chapter books for young kids.
