This story follows Max and his two sisters to a new town. Similar to Angel's Game (Sequel to Shadow of the Wind), The Prince of Mist has a mystical and magical figure hovering ominously throughout the story. Max explores his new home, new town, and his new friend Roland. The history of the watchtower and his friend's connection proves unnerving to Max, but that is only the beginning of the events that quickly unfold. **spoiler** There are two things I don't like in my stories: clowns and romance. These parts are creepy and full of teenage angst I could do with less in my leisure reading. What gave this story it's three star rating was the predictable way it was told. Although, I appreciate Carlos keeping up with the mysterious stranger theme. He does that kind of storytelling well.

A first effort from a fledgling author. If you've read The Shadow of the Wind or The Angel's Game, you'll be familiar with Zafon's writing style. Here it is in its infancy, and for a YA audience. The similarities are aided by a translation from Lucia Graves, who also translated his later books.
It suffers, however, from trying to put too many ideas into so small of a book. There are also a few plot threads that remain unresolved, The three stars are for the idea for the story, which could have been quite good.

Mi expectativa era muy alta tiene una narrativa muy común, muy sosa, la historia es muy típica, no hubo nada interesante... sin duda no llenó mis espectativas, espero sus otros libros famosos sean más interesantes.

Another good Ruiz Zaion listen. I love his interesting settings. I started listening for the Barcelona settings, but have enjoyed his other locations as well.

Very good. I'm sort of in a Ruiz-Zafon whirlwind now. This one is good. The three in the series are not directly related, except for the shadow concept, which is kind of standard horror fare - Niebla series.
