I found this book to be fascinating.
The subject matter was thoroughly engrossing.
It is also very sad and shocking
I found it hard to believe that the mother would not be sympathetic toward her own child. This book has heartbreaking moments.
This is an absolute worthwhile and challenging read.

I felt this was inspirational how one girl overcame the ties that bound her to a tragic backstory. From a literary standpoint, not particularly challenging to read, but definitely a story that leaves your rooting for a safe and positive ending.

Heart-breaking but powerful story of a muslim girl, abused while growing up, but who eventually escaped her life. I'm really impressed with how the christian community she later found handled the situation. No one pushed her to convert, but they showed love and support without hiding where the source of their love came from. For more mature readers...could cause nightmares.
