This volume is definitely one of my favorites so far! Finally the long awaited return of Kaneki’s memories!! ”I’m done dreaming.” SHIVERS. When it was revealed that Kaneki’s mother beat him as a kid it horrified me because of how much Kaneki idolized his mother in the previous volumes. Despite having his memories back he’s not the same Kaneki from the previous volumes, and I have to say I don’t really know what his motives are at the moment. He looks very cool with his black hair and glasses though.
Shirazus death made me so sad and I really didn’t see it coming. I really hope he comes back, but i’m scared he’s not going to come back as himself If Kano managers to resurrect him. Urie FINALLY showed some compassion and emotion which made me feel a little closer to him. He’s still an asshole but i understand him a little better. He has such hard expectations and puts so much pressure on himself that it makes him egoistical, and a big factor into that is his rivaly between Kuroiwa whose father had to leave Urie’s father to die. The scene between Urie and Kaneki was so intense! Haise would have offered Urie comfort, but Kaneki gave him the cruel truth instead.
The Kanae and Shu scene was so tragic and beautiful at the same time. I didn’t really care a lot about Kanae, and I still don’t really understand why she hid her gender but I think it was beautiful how she could die as herself with her feelings out in the open. ”A tragic life is not being able to live as yourself. A happy life is being able to die as yourself.”
The twist that shocked me the most has to be the Takatsuki reveal because I never would have put it together that she and Eto were the same person. I look forward to seeing how things are going to proceed after that ending. I feel like Eto and Kaneki has some connection that we dont know about yet? I also wonder what Arima and Furuta are up to — what is their true objective and what does it mean for Kaneki?

Oh my god!!! So much just got set into motion and things are moving so much faster than I expected. I have no idea where this story is going.

That was a lot…no good feelings about what’s happening (like everything is just sad and depressing). I knew something was off about Arima

******SPOILERS AHEAD******
I devoured this Volume! The much awaited transformation happened and the fight sequence with Owl was amazing! But he's not the Kaneki from TG as well, this time, there's something dangerous lurking beneath a carefully held mask. He's ruthlessly eliminating Ghouls, has ceased any contact with his Ghoul friends despite having his memories, it's unclear what his goal is at this point.
Shirazu's death scene was written so beautifully, it evoked all the emotions in me. I knew Kanou won't pass up on the opportunity to explore Qs, now I wonder if Shirazu would come back in some form since even Urie says he'll bring him back at any cost..?
Besides, there were two elements revealed that completely shocked me. Never did I guess that Takastuki was Eto all along, somehow I had forgotten Takastuki's face when it was revealed in TG. But she's revealed to not be the person Kaneki is searching for.. Meanwhile, Furuta and Arima are revealing key information to a guy named V.. Is this the head of the organization Kuzen was once part of? Besides Aogiri and CCG, there's something else at play here and Arima is part of that. Him and Furuta always gave strange vibes, I wonder if Kaneki is aware of the same..

Haise had fluffy, wavy hair. He looked so good. Kaneki's memories are reestablished and his hair turns pin-straight. Now, I understand it changing color, but his hair pattern changing, too? I refuse to acknowledge it. At least he looks cute in his glasses.
Shirazu dying was gut-wrenching; Tsukiyama surviving was a nice relief.
Am I mildly concerned about Kaneki's newfound lack of compassion? Undoubtedly; I am actually losing it.
Ishida, you will pay for your many crimes. For the kid's death and for Kaneki's straight hair.
