Short and sweet. I enjoyed it, but don't feel I can really rate it higher because it really was so short and not much really happened. It's made me intrigued about the other books in the series though, and although other characters appeared it wasn't too disconcerting or off putting getting cameos from characters I know nothing about.

Very cute and sweet. It seems that Olsen often has characters who have bi or gay awakenings with zero conflict, but surprisingly, she makes it mostly work. A definite reread for me.

In theory

I think I need to watch a rugby game only because of Drew’s reaction to him in his uniform. Nnngh, Sully and Drew have chemistry, powerful, smoking hot chemistry, but what I really adore about them is how they’re friends first, they’re each other’s confidants, how they make each other laugh and smile, and how they trust one another. “You’re going to believe me when I say I love you. You’re going to trust me when I say I want no one but you. And you’re going to admit that we belong together.” 100% for all the spicy food in the world, Drew and Sully are meant to be. And that’s in reality, not theory.

4.75* of goodness

Again the author of this series makes me laugh out loud with a beautifully timed quip, this second book in the series is a fake boyfriend story that is funny, sweet, has text messages that flow with banter and some steam. There is an element of insta love to this book, that has no angst. It is a book designed to make you smile and it is very successful.

Another awesome addition to the series

I’m always bummed when a series ends so I am so glad Isla decided to write a spin-off of the Love & Luck series. I loved every one of those books and this series is shaping up to fall right alongside it. It’s nice to see familiar faces while still meeting new ones and Sullivan and Drew’s story is absolutely adorable. I cannot wait for the next book.

This was an adorable perfect for summer read! It is so perfectly Tropey!! We have Fake boyfriend, Brother's friend, Billionaire, GFY... and a cast of fun family and friends all around! and yes there is the big drama near the end that you do not need but .... well why not... covering all the tropes here! Drew is a mechanic and Sullivan is our big business billionaire. I loved both of their personalities and there was so much chemistry and funny banter between them from the minute they meet! It is told from Bbth of their POV's and I really enjoyed Drew's funny thoughts about everything he was feeling and doing! This was a nice shorter length story that flowed and still had great character development and personalities! I received an ARC of this book and I recommend for those who enjoy a light read with humor and banter that lead to a steamy romance!

‘Mr. Right Now’ might be my new favorite book by Isla Olsen, and that’s saying something since I love so many of her books. Olsen is one of those authors that has zany background characters and loads of fun in her books. Reading her books is like hanging out with your best friends at a comedy show. Every book is overflowing with warmth and humor, and ‘Mr. Right Now’ is no exception.

Sully’s last relationship went up in flames when he found out the man he’d been dating had used their relationship to sell private information about one of Sully’s closest friends to the tabloids. Unfortunately, he promised his mom he was bringing “Andrew” to his sister’s wedding, and he can’t bear to tell his family what happened. He decides finding a fake date is the best option, but he needs someone he trusts. When his brother and his brother’s business partner, Drew, run in to trouble with their shop’s roof, he offers to help them pay to fix it in exchange for Drew accompanying him to the wedding. Drew agrees since he and his friend are desperate for help, even if Drew is straight. Or at least he thinks he’s straight until the connection between them starts to feel real.

The ‘Fake Dating’ trope is one of my all-time favorite story arcs, and ‘Mr. Right Now’ plays up the trope wonderfully. Most of Olsen's books are fairly low angst, and that’s true of this story too. It’s mostly light-hearted and fun. Where other authors might play up the drama for effect, Olsen leans into the humor and the comfort of tropes like these. That’s not to say that there isn’t a little yearning and angst, because of course there is, but Olsen sprinkled them on top of the humor and fun of the story. Sully and Drew have great chemistry and I loved watching them find their way.

If you need a comfort read or an escapist romance read, this book is perfect. I can’t recommend it enough. You’re going to laugh and you’re going to fall in love with ‘Mr. Right Now.’

What I loved: the fake-relationship trope, it gets me everytime.
What I hated: the bi-erasure. WHY just why......
What keeps confusing me: the thousand secondary characters. just like Love&Luck there are so many that are somehow connected and keep confusing me.
What I missed: at least a hundred more pages. the story sadly felt rushed at times..

But ohwell, I know that I will most probably read on in the series.
