I love any Eva Chance and Harlow King collaborations. There is so much going on in this book Why Choose, Mafia, Sports and Stalker tropes in one. This was a really interesting spin on the Mafia romance. When reading the blurb I assumed it would be a dark romance but I was pleasantly surprised at how contemporary it is. Cutting Edge was a favorite movie of mine growing up so I'm really loving the ice skating storyline. We have not seen much of the Mafia side of the story in the first book, except for the hijinks with the low level gang in town. I'm assuming that will get more incorporated as the series progresses. There is a nice dynamic being created with all the men in Lou's life. I can't wait to see how they all work together in the future books.

I feel like my expectations for this were too high after reading the blurb. It was a nice and quick read, but something was missing for me. It’s also very fast burn, although we do get some good build up with one of the romantic interests.
I had some issues with a plot point - the “gifts” left for her. How did she come up with the conclusion it was those people leaving it for her? I’m not sure if I just missed it in the book or if it really wasn’t explained.
I was expecting more mafia elements, but we got very little of that. Maybe that will change with future books. And I really appreciated the figure skating parts. So for that reason, I will probably be reading the second book when it comes out.

Hey Lovelies
First things first, thank you to Eva Chance and Harlow King for allowing me to read this wonderful book.
This is the perfect book if you are looking for a slow burn and twists and turns. I was amazed at how the flow of the book was done. It kept my attention, and I enjoyed it a lot. Not to mention that ending, I knew something was up and it was suspicious. The spice in this book was perfect, not wild and I appreciated the break from spice-heavy books. I cannot wait for the 2nd book if there is going to be a book 2.
As for the characters, Lou was badass, and I loved the independence and that all her men allowed her to explore that freedom and independence. She grew as a character from the start to the end of the book. Rafael is my kind of guy, broody, protective, and grumpy. I also appreciated the fact that it took him a bit longer to realize what he felt for Lou. Jasper, I thought was the mysterious guy for a hot second but alas nope he was the moody, yet thoughtful and misunderstood jock. Which is fine if you are into that. (Always remember you do you boo!). Niko was our little ok maybe a not little ray of sunshine; he was a whole lotta sunshine. I loved his outgoing personality and that he liked to push both Lou and Jasper to be the best that they could be. I do hope that should we get book 2, Niko and Jasper get a skating scene together.
I really enjoyed this book and I hope you do too.
