Read as a print book.

Oh my gosh - this was such an adorable story!!

If you’re looking for a story that can offer a fun adventure and plenty of cheer, I highly recommend you read this book about Opal and her dog, Winn-Dixie! It’s a happy story and right now - we can all use a bit of happy!

It’s a children’s book - mid-grade school I would guess. As an adult, you’ll whip right through it.

P.S.if you likes this one, you should try Kate DiCamillo’s The Tale of Despereaux about a mouse that lives in a castle and saves a princess!

Maybe not my favourite Kaye Dicamillo book, but still a sweet story.

I adore Kate DiCamillo. Her characters are both lovable and believable. Her stories have difficulty and have heart. Her writing is prose and it is poetry. Her book are fiction and yet they are so, so TRUE. Though I’ve read all of her other books, I never read this one, as my girls both read it at school so we didn’t do it at home as a read aloud. I had been saving it, a bit, knowing that after this I will have read all her (currently in existence) books. But I needed this story of Winn-Dixie this week, and I’m so glad I finally read it. Now Kate will just have to write more, so I can keep on reading her.
