Couldn't put it down, enjoyed it a lot more than the last 2 in the series!

It takes a bit to get used to Nesbo's writing style, but once you do, you just fly through the book. Just once, I would love to "solve" the mystery. I was close with this one, but didn't figure everything out. There's a certain someone who needs their comeuppance and I hope it happens soon.

Had a long review but this god awful app force quit itself and I lost it all. To sum it up
Nesbo is a fantastic writer which is why this is 3 stars instead of 2. Largely dull plot with way too many threads and subplots going on but none of them all that interesting. Lackluster payoffs for the robbery suspect and the murder case. The Redbreast had two timelines and a TON of very similar names to keep track of over the course of the book and still felt less convoluted than this one. Saving grace is that, like I said, Nesbo is a good writer and found ways to keep me mostly engaged. This one still took me forever to read. Probably won’t ever read it again, unlike Redbreast and maybe Cockroaches.
Excited to see where the next book goes with Ellen’s murder case, a much much much more interesting case for Harry to investigate.

After really enjoying The Snowman, I picked up a couple of other Harry Hole books and wasn't as impressed. This one I was even less happy with. I won't rush out to read the next one.

I am loving the main character and enjoying this series immensely. This story was a little more transparent than the others. I didn't have all of the details sorted but I knew the jist of what had happened in the first 100 pages or so. Still a great story. I can't wait to read the rest of this series.

Lepší než jsem čekala, po Sněhulákovi si spravil pověst. Vzorec je pořád dost podobný (— Je to on! —Není to on, tenhle to je! —Ne, tenhle!), ale dobré. Žádnou z uvedených chorob tentokrát nemám, takže případné nepřesnosti mě netrápí.

Even though it took me FOREVER to listen to the whole thing, I really liked this one. Apparently, I've haven't spent enough time in the car by myself this summer. Harry Hole gets personally involved in a murder, and there's a terrible bank robber/killer to be caught. Wonderful twists in both ends. Harry really made me nervous in this one, with his behavior.
