This volume was incredibly binge-able but also sad and frustrating. Also, for the last few volumes I've noticed and appreciated all the well-timed phrases on everyone's shirts that they never seem to wear again.

SpoilerI love that Ken and Asako got together, but it happened super fast. I also don't like the timing with Ken changing his style. It felt like a glow up situation where she only accepted him after he changed for her, but I realize it was probably meant to indicate that he was choosing to grow for himself.

Also, Ryo is making me mad. He knows what's up with Meeko and Matsunaga. He keeps thinking that he wants Meeko to be happy but then pushing her to be with him.

And I love that Matsunaga is professionally successful and that Meeko is supporting him, but he's really messing up not making time for her. I have these feelings about him juxtaposed with the fact that he's still way too old for a high schooler.

On one hand, I like the realistic development of Matsunaga and Miko's relationship. With them not living together, it makes sense that there would be more of a disconnect and difficulty in lining up schedules. At the same time, I also feel like a large portion of the big blow-up is a direct result of Miko's inexperience and youngness.  With a bit more life experiences in her, it wouldn't have felt like the end of the world for those events to happen. They shouldn't for sure, and Matsunaga no doubt messed up, but Miko's reaction is directly correlated to her age, and it just make the contrast between them that much starker. I've also said this before, but I still really dislike Ryo's role in this whole thing. I don't think he was a necessary addition, and I would have preferred Miko rely on a female friend to help sort out her feelings in this instance.

🎂 Chapters 37 - 40: A lot happens in this volume and the story is moving quickly now with only one volume left. I feel bad for how things left off for some of the characters at the end of this volume and hope things work out well for everyone in the next.
