A good back story....

If you have read Robotham's previous books with Evie, then you will love this one. We finally get the full story of who she is and where she came from. All this to say that is the major part of this book.
The new story becomes a back drop to the telling of Evie's origins and like any good tale, weaves them together in the end.
My only negative comment is this one felt repetitive. The author kept telling us of Evie's hangups, both through her eyes and Cyrus'. Also, it just seems that Cyrus, who is a psychiatrist, is clueless when it comes to seeing how much Evie adores him.
Overall a good read, so I give it four stars.

It wasn't bad, just felt like it was missing something the whole time. I do like the way it all came together at the end.

Also think the into/about the book should be waaayy different

Received an ARC via NetGalley.

I love the growth of the characters, really mostly Evie, in this series. I appreciate too that her story hasn’t been dragged out. This book serves to put the pieces of who she is together and it comes at a great place in the series. I can’t tell if this serves as the end (I hope not) or a place for some of her story to be solved so she and the series can continue to grow. But I think either way, it’s a solid installment and I’ll hope there are more but if not, I think it is a great conclusion.

These books are always a pure addictive pleasure to read. This one was a little more predictable than the earlier ones, but I didn’t even care because I just love these characters and it’s so easy to read.
